27 Oct Day – 44 Panther Bay
The sail plan for the day was a short 3 hour hop on Kentucky Lake from Green Turtle Bay resort to Panther Bay. Panther Bay is in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area and there are some hiking trails that one can reach by dinghy.
We left Turtle Bay around 11 AM and passed the Barkley Lock that we didn’t take to get here. It is also a huge dam and lock.
It was a most pleasant day on the Lake. We did have to share it with some other little boats.
After those wave cleared it was calm the rest of the way to Panther bay.
We did pass one big tow that looked like it was carrying new lock doors for the Kentucky Lock.
Panther Bay was very scenic with the trees starting to turn. We rafted the boats together to have Sunday dinner.
While dinner was cooking I took a dinghy tour
And chased some local wildlife.
I went to shore and found a beautiful campground populated by a few RV’s. If I was an RV’er I would put this spot on my togo list. Unfortunately, my camera battery died and I didn’t get any good pictures.

Posted at 18:34h, 08 NovemberBeautiful! Looks like you are finally getting into some warer weather. What was that black thing in the water off shore when you said you were chasing wildlife was it a heron.
