Day 25 – Michigan to Michigan City

Today went exactly (almost) as planned.  Up early, used the self pumpout at the Municipal Marina and then headed out into Lake Michigan just after sunrise.

The east winds were a little stronger than expected so we stayed close to the shoreline for 50NM to Michigan City.

We passed the state line from Michigan to Indiana on the way, so we left Michigan and ended the day in Michigan City.

Also interesting,  we crossed a time zone and are now living an hour behind home.  Talking to Emily back home she said “What’s it like living in the past?” Awesome is the answer!  We could see the Chicago skyline as we were approaching and just now I was up on the flybridge looking at the lights of the city across the Lake.

Tomorrow we have a mooring ball book @ Munroe Harbor, right downtown Chicago, I’m sure the lights will be  brighter there.
